Sweater Chop Shop

  • Fiber College of Maine 216 West Main Street Searsport, Maine USA (map)

$259.00

A Sweater Chop Shop is a free-wheeling creative outpouring of cutting and sewing used and discarded clothing into new, carefully (yet quickly) constructed bespoke garments. During this class, students will make custom designed and sized sweaters or sweatshirts from used collected wool, cashmere, mohair, and/or alpaca sweaters or cotton sweatshirts that have been machine washed and dried. Cutting and hand sewing skills are handy but no experience is necessary for this class.

Students should bring:
Used wool, cashmere, mohair, and/or alpaca sweaters or cotton sweatshirts that have been machine washed and dried. (It is O.K. if the animal fiber sweaters shrink.)

Crispina will supply for student use during class:
Tools, including scissors, needles, pins, and yarn as well as a handful of prepared garments to augment student materials.
