Recreate your wardrobe by cutting, sewing, and fitting out-of-style, stained, ill-fitted or otherwise un-wearable clothing into a new favorite. Participants should bring 3-6 freshly laundered garments to restyle and/or swap. Things will kick off with demonstrations of restyling techniques. Then, individual consultations will help each student devise a game-plan to create a custom fitted, wonderfully styled new garment of their own design.

Community Rug Weave

Potholder Rugs are very large-scale potholders like you might have made as a child. They are amazingly insulating, comfortable to walk on and sit on, and are 100% recycled and chemical free. They can be made from any sort of stretchy discarded clothing. Loops are carefully cut strips that are woven on simple frame looms creating the finished floor carpet, dog bed, chair pad, or sleeping mat. The process is ancient and simple -- the finished product is clean, fresh, and useful.

Students should amass:
Used stretchy clothing, any kind of stretchy clothing works, from t-shirts to single socks, sweaters, leggings, and more. What is important is color. Be sure to bring clothing in the color/s that you would like your rug to be.
